We are putting the finishing touches on a William IV center table at one of our studios. The client provided an inspiration image as well as some ideas for sample colors and we built the table off of that.
Last summer an architect in the city hired us to design and creat this is mid century custom console based on a smaller, different design by Monteverdi Young. This piece by ERA Interiors features a single drawer, solid mahogany wood and a light finish. The dimensions are 96″ long x 15″ deep by 30″ tall.
We just completed a round art deco dining table for a client in Soho. The table measures 60″ in diameter and is 29″ tall. The client was shopping for a table and found one at an antiques dealer’s gallery. The color, size and finish were not right for their dining room so they sent us photos of the original and opted for a custom table instead. This table features book matched walnut and a pedestal base. Generally custom dining tables similar to this require a lead time of 12-14 weeks.
Deciding the number of people you would like to seat at a dining table is important before you decide on it’s size. It is also very important to consider the size of the table in the space. The table should be to scale and proportion in reference to the size of the dining room. If the shape of the dining room is rectangular you should consider a rectangular or oval dining table and if the room is square a round or square table will work best.
Round dinig tables that are 66″ – 72″ in diameter will seat 8 people. Rectangular dining table that are 96″ long will also seat 8 people. Here are some images that illustrate a round and a rectangular dining table that will seat eight people.
Pictured is a custom 5′-6″ round Neoclassical dining table we created for a client in Westchester. The design of the table was based on our Neoclassical double pedestal dining table. The table seats eight people, features a solid mahogany fluted column base, a radial mahogany clotch veneer top and a clear durable lacquer finish.
Pictured is a custom leather exterior coffee table we created for a client in Westchester. The inside features natural white oak and the piece was created to scale as part of a large family room designed by an interior designer from New York City. The designer couldn’t find the exact size/ color combination and contracted us to create a custom table. We created shop drawings and provided a leather sample for approval prior to production.
We just completed a Robsjohn Gibbings inspired walnut X Base Dining Table for an interior designer from Westchester. This table can seat six comfortably and eight with the leaf, extending the width of the table 20″ from 72″ without the leaf to 92″ with the leaf. We provided the client with shop drawings prior to production and a finish sample before completing the hand polish finish. We’ve created several Robsjohn Gibbings inspired pieces including dressers, lounge chairs, and a Jean Michel Frank X Base Desk.
Pictured is a natural maple burlwood custom coffee table we built for a client in Murray Hill. Burlwood, along with walnut, oak and a number of other types of wood, is increasingly popular in spaces. The natural w0od slabs can be used as side tables, dining tables, kitchen tables, floating consoles and any number of other options. The client designed the legs based on an inspiration image and we created them.
