CUSTOM 13′ WALNUT RENAISSANCE DINING TABLE

By | March 22nd, 2011|Dining Space, Dining Tables, Georgian, Renaissance, Spanish|

We posted a while back on the solid walnut 13 foot dining table we created.  The first image is the inspiration image found in Interior Design magazine, and then you can see the base and tabletop mid-production.  The last photo is a shot of the final completed table.  This table has elements of the late Renaissance furniture style, with spiral turns, solid walnut (oak was also popular during this period), inlay, geometric square pattern, and a carved base.  The table is 9 feet when closed, with the two additional leaves it measures 13 feet.

Custom solid stoolsThese are two stools created in the Renaissance tradition and were designed as part of a foyer entrance in an apartment in the San Remo in Central Park West.  The stools were created with custom specifications to sit side by side beneath a large oil painting and to match as part of a set a side table with Renaissance elements.

Renaissance style side chairs

handmade_custom_spanish_side_chairThis is a set of  ten chairs we custom made for a client.  These chairs combine the Renaissance furniture style and a clean more contemporary look. The linear symmetrical design and strong sculptural forms contrast with the white linen fabric. It makes them perfect for a more casual/rustic dining area. There are many variations of dining chairs in the Renaissance style and this one in particular features two block and spindle legs in the front which are connected by the classic H-shaped stretcher.

Creating a matching bench from the design of a Spanish x stool

By | July 19th, 2010|all, Bedroom, Benches, Designs, Entry, Living Space, Renaissance, SEATING, Spanish, Store, White washed finish|

Custom Spanish x benchA common request by designers is they have a piece of furniture they saw in a space or magazine that they like a lot, and either want a set created around it, for instance a set of chairs, or a custom table to match the style of the chair and accentuate some it’s elements. Another common request is to design a similar piece of furniture with a different size or a different function. The initial design submitted for this piece was a stool and the designer requested an entryway parlor bench be created to match a living room stool, which was visible from the parlor area, to tie the space together. In this case we utilized the measurements of the space and designed a bench which fit the parlor as well as matching, yet not replicating, the stool. It’s a one of kind piece of furniture.
