Pictured is a pair of Federal style armchairs in a client’s living room. For this project we were provided with one of the chairs and asked to create an identical chair to complement the existing chair and create balance in the room. Usually in order to be able to create an exact match the existing chair will need some level of refinishing.
This is a marble-topped round mahogany side table with a center circular tear that sits above a triangular flared base and carved burn feet. This side table was inspired by furniture created during the Federal period and is supported by three hand carved solid mahogany reverse scroll legs. Often clients design furniture pieces that will incorporate other materials such as stone, metals and petrified woods. Incorporating such materials makes the piece of furniture more distinctive and durable.
