handmade console tableThe Georgian age period, also known as the “Golden Age of Furniture”, featured the iconic designers Hepplewhite, Cheppendale, Sheraton and Adam.  Georgian furniture features a mix of elements from various styles including the straight lines from the Palladine period, the gateleg table design from the Jacobean period, and an overall conservative approach without intricate carving similar to the Empire furniture period.  This demilune (half moon) mahogany table was inspired by the Georgian style from the 18th century.  It features square tapered legs characteristic of the Georgian style with ebony inlays and cross-banded frieze along the edges. The overall linear and elegant appearance of this furniture piece was inspired by the proportions from the Georgian period .
