Floating natural wood slab console table

By | July 18th, 2012|all, Consoles Tables|

Often we are hired to create custom solutions for interiors in New York City, particularly where size or shape is an issue.  The natural wood slabs are a great way to accentuate a clean contemporary space with something new and organic.  This particular piece of wood is ash with a hand polish finish which highlights the natural color of the wood.  We offer installation and design of the organic slabs in virtually any wood type for dining tables, consoles, desks, coffee tables, side tables and kitchen tables.

Wood inlay coffee table

By | August 24th, 2010|all, ROOM, Store, Tables, Veneering work|

inlay rectangular coffee tableThis coffee table has a solid walnut structure with a cherry and mahogany inlay. The beauty of creating furniture using the inlay technique is the flexibility and endless patterns that can be crafted to create a one of a kind piece of furniture. Another benefit of using the inlay technique is to create a piece of furniture integrating other materials such as bone, horn, ivory and mother of pearl. These materials create another level of originality for furniture but will also increase the cost of the final product.

Natural wood base tabletops

By | August 20th, 2010|all|

In earlier post about the Nakashima inspired table we created for a client, I discussed the beauty of leaving wood in as close to its natural state as possible for furniture. It’s an unspoken innate and organic concept which has widespread appeal, being able to create something functional which can be in total harmony in a nature setting. This table by Palo Samko, furniture maker extraordinaire based in Brooklyn, NY, is also a magnificent example of this natural harmony.
